All aboard Choo Choo Revue! In the first new show from BBMT in 40 years, your theater seat becomes a train bound for fantasy! A monumental milestone for BBMT and celebration of community and joy, Choo Choo Revue inspires IMAGINATION for all.

Through the train window of BBMT’s stage, travel across rolling hills, mountainous peaks, and dazzling deserts. Meet dancing luggage, singing mushrooms, and a cicada jugband. This hour-long show, packed with over 100 handcrafted, BRAND NEW puppets, is presented with theatric grandeur and spectacular artistic skill.

Bob Baker Marionette Theater is thrilled to present this milestone achievement in puppetry and theater, showcasing innovative art and performance for new generations to enjoy. This is your ticket to the future of puppetry!

Join BBMT to learn how we made our first new show in 40 years, Choo Choo Revue, and hear exclusive insights from talented puppeteers and fabricators who shaped the show, created over 100 handcrafted puppets, and brought the future of BBMT puppetry to life!

The night will begin with a presentation of Choo Choo Revue, followed by a talkback and conversation hosted by Rody N. Lopez, Executive Director of Craft Contemporary. He’ll be discussing how BBMT makes a new puppet show with a talented team of Director Alex Evans, Head of Puppet Fabrication Kevin Beltz, and Puppeteers Ginger Duncan, Kahbia Sada, Sean Wejebe, and Elena Humpherys.

Join us for this one-night only presentation of art and puppetry, an exploration of preservation and innovation in craft, and so much more!

Sensory-Friendly Choo Choo Revue Show

We want our theater to be an accessible space for all of our patrons. We’re offering a sensory-friendly version of Choo Choo Revue on August 1st at 10:30 AM for guests who would prefer a show environment that include sensory modifications.

If you’d like to attend the sensory-friendly show, please book your tickets for August 1st here. If you do not want to be approached by the puppet during the show, please reserve a seat on the left-hand side of the theater, indicated in blue (floor seats) and orange (chair seats).

We are committed to making the arts accessible and proudly offer interpreted showtimes to ensure that all patrons can enjoy our performances. By providing sign language interpretation, we strive to create an inclusive and enriching experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

ASL interpretation by Leslie Earley will be provided on 7/25 at the 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM showtimes as well as 8/30 on the 10:30 AM & 1:30 PM showtimes.
The marked ORANGE seats are designed for deaf and/or hearing impaired guests to best view ASL interpreters during these shows.
